A specialist M&E Contractor offering D&B solutions to clients within the Data Centre / Critical Facility industry with emphasis on power and cooling solutions.
Due to full order books and planned continued company growth into 2012 the project technical services team is recruiting for an experienced electrical design engineer.
The successful Electrical Design Engineer will be required to provide detailed electrical design solutions and follow them through to installation and testing stage. The Electrical Design Engineer will need have a solid understanding of how electrical systems are designed and operated, although not essential it will be very desirable if you already hold knowledge of systems associated with data centres i.e. ups and generators.
The successful Electrical Design Engineer will report into the Principal Engineer. Designs will be developed from concept or high level schemes and responsibilities will include technical support to the project team, estimation, detailed design, tender, project management, installation quality control and on site system and design valuation.
Experience ideally required:
- Amtec and CAD or single line drawings.
- Design of electrical installations mainly for mid seized M&E orientated data centre electrical projects.
- Coordination of contractors
- Switchgear design
- UPS configuration
- Cable design
- Appreciation of associated building services electrical and mechanical systems
- Data Centre experience would be ideal but not essential
- Project or site experience would be advantageous
In summary: The ideal candidate would have already worked on data centre projects however any electrical design engineer who has or is working for a contractor on D&B projects would be encouraged to apply!
